Art has been taken to new heights (literally) this month in Brooklyn, New York. Equal parts installation and performance art, two friends and artists have created an abnormally large sized hamster wheel for humans and lived in it for 10 days. Situated in a boiler room of Williamsburg, this pair’s built environment is constantly moving as if they were hamsters.
The gigantic wheel is three stories tall, and the interior as well as exterior is outfitted with furniture. The interior (where Schweder is) has the same furniture as the adjacent exterior area (where Shelley stays)– meaning that throughout the 10 days, they will be doing simultaneous activities which even pertains to using the restroom. An interesting concept and likely a very fascinating (or boring) thing to watch.
